Last month, I had the privilege of watching my friend give birth to her fourth child! There's such a dynamic range of emotions during this special time- joy, uncertainty, love, fear, excitement- and I truly felt honored to be there to capture it. Everyone expected Lauren's labor to be quick but God had other plans. Her labor was almost exactly 12 hours- so slow and then WHAM! Little Wyatt entered the world in a blink of an eye, weighing a respectable amount of 9lb. 2oz. :)
Lauren was surrounded by a wonderful group of people: Brett (her husband), her sister-in-law, her in-laws (Brett's mother stayed the entire time) & a good friend. She had hoped her mother would make it but injury kept her home. Not only did she have a great group of people, she had doughnuts! Brett's father brings them for each daughter/daughter-in-law when they are in labor- a special treat after all their hard work. And, wow- they were yummy! Seriously going to adopt this tradition as my own if God gives us more children!
